St. Mark's Cathedral
Paramus, New Jersey
Designed with the religious customs and traditions in mind, St. Mark's Cathedral will be the main cathedral for the Syriac Orthodox Church in the eastern United States. This 26,000 square foot cathedral complex includes a 536 seat sanctuary, classrooms for religious instruction, an assembly hall, as well as an enclosed spiritual garden.

The sanctuary was designed adhering to church tradition of having the altar facing East. High domed ceilings and a "cross" plan formation create a space that is contemporary yet reminiscent of many Christian cathedrals of Europe and Middle East.
